This is my second inverter, the first was a modified sine wave, has its limitations and eventually I cooked. This one is over 5x the cost and so far is working very well and well worth the investment. I left the default sleep mode on, which consumes about .35A, they call it a power save. It takes a few seconds to kick on after a draw is detected. there is a wire direct which I have utilized and I did changed the default output from 115VAC to 120VAC. I noted a difference on one of the motors when I was connected to the grid and switched the appliance to off grid. I am using this for a system I built that includes this, a controller, PV and batteries. I did not purchase the display, its not required to operate, but, it is being considered since you can capture problems. Currently, im using a DVM and recording the levels of the batteries, if this falls short, this as well as my controller will cut power, its a saving grace so as not to damage components in the system.
